Southern University MTA Poster Presentation- MTNA National Conference

  • Southern University Music Teacher Association Chapter was selected as one of the eight chapters in the whole nation for a poster presentation for the “Pedagogy Saturday” with all the activities that the chapter has been developing through the academic year

  • Represented Southern University and the state of Louisiana as an attendee at the National Conference of the Music Teacher National Association in Anaheim

  • Arranged the trip for the students of the chapter: Sonya Brown, Ryan Alexander and Leticia Motta.

  • Actively involved in the Collegiate Chapters Forum and the Music Wellness Forum, adding important ideas for the future of the MTNA

Adjudicator DeBose National Piano Competition

  • Adjudicate the Duet Pre- College division of the DeBose National Piano Competition at SU campus.

  • For the first time prepared two Southern University students to be part of the College/ Young artist division. SU student Leticia Motta Rodrigues was third place on this category.

  • Elected three Southern University students as part of the Louisiana State Collegiate board members: Naomi Isumi (President), Ryan Alexander (Vice- President) and Leticia Motta (Secretary)
